Szymon Pindur is studying English with Chinese and general linguistics at the University of Silesia in Katowice within the framework of the individual inter-field studies. Ever since he was a little child, he has been fascinated by the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien. Now that he is a student, he tries to adopt a more scientific approach to the subject. His research focuses on the linguistic aspects of Tolkien’s works. Szymon Pindur actively participates in various conferences and symposia dedicated to the English professor and his writings. He presented his studies at the Tolkien Society Seminar 2017 in Leeds, and, this year, at the Omentielva: The 8th International Conference on Tolkien's Invented Languages in Reykjavik. He is planning to combine his own linguistic research with the linguistic ideas of Tolkien. For a couple of years now, Szymon Pindur has been the member of Tolkien Society.
